Requirements

After meeting the health and safety requirements and attending an orientation session, volunteers are required to schedule an interview with the God Plans Volunteer Coordinator. During this interview, we’ll discuss your skills, interests, and availability to identify the most suitable placement. After the interview, you will meet with the department supervisor to ensure compatibility, review any necessary training, and finalize your work schedule. This ensures that you are well-prepared to make the most meaningful contribution to our mission.

Volunteers must submit valid health clearance documentation to ensure compliance with safety and wellness standards before participating in God Plans programs. This requirement is in place to protect both our volunteers and the communities we serve, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all involved.

All volunteer candidates must attend an orientation workshop before placement. Please bring your completed application and health records (refer to health information below) to the workshop. If you are a student, you are also required to provide a completed recommendation form. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older to work in Child Life Services. However, we offer the Summer Student Program, open to high school students aged 17 and older, designed for those looking to fulfill community service hours while gaining valuable experience.

All volunteer assignments require a minimum commitment of 3 consecutive months. Volunteers are expected to serve at least 2 to 4 hours per week during this period.
